Eye Rafiki Technicians Training Program
The Eye Rafiki Center aims to Train and Equip the under-employed youth of Rural Kenya to set up small Eye Rafiki Clinics (ERC) businesses. Matibabu College of Health Science Under Eye Rafiki Optician Program, with the help of our Project Partners (Esillor), will identify Enterprenual Passionate Rural Youth within South West Kenya Counties of Siaya, Busia and Kisumu to train on:
1. Basic Vision Screening,
2. Spectacle Dispensing,
3. Glazing and Refraction.
This training will go for a period of 12 months including two months of classroom session and 10 months of On Job Training (OJT). During the OJT period,
ERTs will be trained on various business aspects such as basics of running
• a successful business,
• customer handling
• and conducting Vision Screening Events (VSEs).
We have a dedicated training center where training will be given by a team of high Qualified Trainers, with all level quality assessments done.
On completion of successful training, 2.5NVG provides product and marketing support along with other required instruments the ERTs for setting up a small optical outlet in their respective local communities.
The selected youth will be required to pay 15,000/- each for the course and after completion will be issued with a Certificate by Matibabu Foundation College of Health Sciences, which is a TVET approved institution.
