MFK Community Based Rehabilitation Program

Over 600 people living with various types of disability in Siaya county, especially those living with physical disability have received one of the following support from MFK in the form of: physiotherapy, provision of mobility equipment, construction of playgrounds for children with disability, provision of medication, technical assistance to caregivers in construction of home-made physiotherapy equipment and facilitating corrective surgeries. For their economic empowerment, we have established good linkages with the Social Development department under the Ministry of Social Services through which we have facilitated people living with disability to receive monthly cash transfer. We also continue to support them in formation of support groups and proposal development. We would like to thank all our partners who continue to work with us in this project, including the National Council for People with Disability and the Ministry of Social Services.
