Dramatically Changing Access to Care in Siaya County
The first module of the Matibabu Women's & Children's Hospital is nearing completion. This ten-bed pediatric short-stay unit will provide the district with critical care now available only many kilometers away--it will save lives, cut travel costs, and represents another major advance in health care access for the people in Ugenya District.
Created with the support of Tiba Foundation, this facility is the first of several planned modules. In future, among other services, we contemplate adding adult facilities and an operating theatre.
